Quick Answer
As of June 2026, 13 of the 14 active Burlington-area dispensaries are open on Sundays — Judy's Holistic Solution is the only Burlington shop closed Sundays, and Herbmont has not yet opened. Most shops open between 9:30 AM and 11 AM but run 1–3 hours shorter than weekdays. The Herb Closet on Pearl Street is open 8 AM–midnight, the longest Sunday window in Burlington. In Winooski, all three shops (Winooski Organics, Hello Hi, Dome City) are also open Sundays. Metered street parking in downtown Burlington is free on Sundays.
Sunday is actually a practical day to visit a Burlington dispensary — metered street parking throughout downtown Burlington is free on Sundays, and the Church Street shops tend to be less crowded than Friday and Saturday afternoons. The tradeoff is that most shops run shorter hours: expect openings between 9:30 AM and 11 AM and closings 1–3 hours earlier than on weekdays. Here's the complete Sunday picture, pulled directly from our current hours database.

The Best Sunday Options by What You Need
If You Need to Go Early: The Herb Closet or Winooski Organics
Only two Burlington-area shops open before 10 AM on Sundays. The Herb Closet at 196 Pearl Street opens at 8 AM — the same time it does Monday through Thursday — and stays open until midnight. It's Burlington's first Black-owned dispensary, with a premium, locally grown menu and by far the most consistent early-and-late availability of any shop in the city. If you need cannabis before 10 AM on any day of the week, this is your only downtown Burlington option.
In Winooski, Winooski Organics opens at 8:30 AM on Sundays. The shop is on East Allen Street, about five minutes across the river from Burlington's Old North End. They're consistently praised for their craft Vermont-cultivator focus and staff education approach — a good pick if you're on the Winooski side of the river early in the morning.
If You Need the Latest Sunday Hours: The Herb Closet, Float On, or True 802
The Herb Closet (midnight) is the clear leader for late Sunday access — it's the only Burlington dispensary open past 9 PM on Sundays. Float On on Church Street closes at 9 PM on Sundays, making it the best downtown option for a late-afternoon or early-evening Sunday stop. True 802 Cannabis and Heybud Dispensary both close at 8 PM, giving you two more options for an early-evening Sunday visit if you're coming from the South End or want the farmer-to-consumer focus True 802 is known for.

If You're Near the Waterfront on Sunday
The closest shop to Burlington's waterfront is Green Haven Herbals at 18 Pearl Street (11 AM–6 PM), at the lower, lake end of Pearl Street within a short walk of Waterfront Park and the bike path. It's a boutique shop focused on premium, curated Vermont-grown product — a strong pick if you want to browse a smaller, well-chosen menu before or after a walk along the water. Farther up the same street, The Herb Closet at 196 Pearl Street (8 AM–midnight) is a roughly 10–15 minute uphill walk from the waterfront and the area's longest-hours backup if Green Haven is already closed. The full proximity guide for the waterfront area is at Burlington Waterfront dispensaries.
If You're Arriving by Car and Need Easy Parking
Metered street parking in downtown Burlington is free on Sundays, which makes Church Street-area shops (Float On, True 802, Garcia's, Bern Gallery) easy to reach without the weekday parking scramble. If you're driving in from outside Burlington, Upstate Elevator at 699 Pine Street (10 AM–6 PM) has dedicated on-site parking and easy access from I-89 Exit 14W. Heybud Dispensary in the South End at 291 Saint Paul Street (10 AM–8 PM) also has street parking and a more relaxed atmosphere than downtown.
Sunday vs Weekday: What's Actually Different
Hours are shorter. Most Burlington shops close 1–2 hours earlier on Sundays than on their weekday schedule. Lucky You has the biggest gap — it opens two hours later (noon vs 10 AM) and closes two hours earlier (5 PM vs 7 PM), giving it just a 5-hour Sunday window compared to a 9-hour weekday one. Plan accordingly if you're visiting one of the shops with limited Sunday hours.
Parking is easier and free. Burlington's metered street parking is free on Sundays and major holidays. The downtown Church Street shops — Float On, Garcia's, True 802, Bern Gallery, Lucky You, and Green Leaf Central — are all in metered zones that cost nothing on Sundays. The Church Street Marketplace Garage also tends to be less crowded on Sunday afternoons.
Crowds vary. Sunday afternoons (noon–3 PM) can be busy at Church Street shops, particularly when tourists are in town during summer weekends. If you want a quieter experience, the 10–11 AM window right when shops open tends to move faster. The South End shops (Heybud, Upstate Elevator) consistently have less foot traffic than Church Street regardless of day.
Tax is always the same. Vermont's 14% cannabis excise tax plus 6% sales tax applies every day of the week, including Sundays. Burlington's 1% local option tax also applies at Burlington city shops, bringing the combined rate to approximately 21%. There are no Sunday discounts on taxes — but a few shops run weekly specials; check the Burlington cannabis deals page for current standing offers.
Products are the same. Vermont dispensaries don't reserve specific products for certain days. Whatever's on the menu on a Sunday is the same inventory available Monday through Saturday.
Winooski on Sundays
All three Winooski dispensaries are open Sundays. Winooski is a five-minute drive from Burlington's Old North End and often has easier parking (the Winooski Falls Municipal Lot is free on Sundays). The three shops on East Allen Street — Winooski Organics (8:30 AM–6 PM), Dome City Cannabis (10 AM–7 PM), and Hello, Hi (10 AM–6 PM) — cover different niches: Winooski Organics for craft-cultivator focus, Dome City for consistent daily hours and parking, and Hello Hi for its effect-based menu that works especially well for first-time or low-tolerance shoppers. See the full Winooski dispensary directory for details on all three.
